After making their First Religious Profession on September 13 at the Basilica di Sant’Andrea della Valle in Rome, the young Theatines Henrique José Petruli, Jean Júnior Aguiar, and Vítor Hugo Souza Lima arrived in Évora, where they will continue their formation in the new Theatine Fathers’ Formation House recently established in this city.

On the afternoon of September 18, at the Archbishop’s Residence, the Archbishop of Évora met with the seminarians and the formation team. This meeting was a moment of fraternity and pastoral closeness, in which the prelate could get to know the young men who have said their first “yes” to the Lord within the family of the Clerics Regular of the Theatine Order.

In addition to the meeting, the Archbishop presided over the celebration of the Eucharist, giving thanks to God for the vocation and journey of these brothers. Also present were Father Tacilio Ferreira, C.R., who has been leading the Theatine Mission in Portugal for almost three years, and some Theatine Fathers from the Theatine Province of Brazil. The day concluded with a moment of fellowship around a dinner.

This event marks a new step in the life of the Theatine community in Évora and renews hope in serving the Church through new vocations.
