Convened on the occasion of the ordinary annual provincial meeting on February 13, 14 and 15 of the current year 2023, the priests and professed religious who are part of it, gathered in an assembly presided over by the Rev. Fr. Provincial Pedro M. Romero, CR, we have discussed the context and current situation of the Province. In view of the jubilee celebrations on the occasion of the fifth centenary of the foundation of the Teatine Order, we have proposed to carry out the initiatives that we present below:
MEETINGS
During the celebrative period a series of meetings between priests, religious and lay people will take place with the purpose of deepening in the charism, spirituality, history and actuality of our Institute. The dynamics of such encounters will be in the style of conferences, seminars of interpretation and reading of texts, spiritual exercises, convivences, etc. The age of the participants and their mission in the community dynamics will be taken into account. Since the purpose of the meetings is formative, their objective will be to give greater content to an appreciation for the theatine that has been perceived for years and that would be enriched by a greater knowledge of sources, texts, writings, etc. The participation of the laity together with the religious in the meeting in Rome in September 2024 will be encouraged.
FORMATION
The celebrative framework of the Vth centenary of the origin of regular clerics in the history of the Church can become a propitious occasion for study, reflection and debate even in the academic sphere. With different arguments and themes we will seek to enter into dialogue with the university world, conciliar seminaries, historical institutes, institutes of spirituality, of religious life, and other centers dedicated to the study of social sciences, culture, etc.
EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Since the three houses that make up the Province are strongly linked to the educational pastoral, we consider it necessary and essential to introduce our schools within the framework of the celebration of the Theatine Jubilee Year. To this end, we will work together with the directors, teaching staff and parents of the school in order to generate a festive atmosphere, with awareness of the reason for the celebrations and generating in the students, as far as possible, a sense of belonging to the charism of the Order and its spirit of humanist and Christian reform, always considering and respecting the circumstances and particularities of each educational institution.
SOCIAL NETWORKS
As consecrated members of an Institute born five centuries ago and that continues seeking the Kingdom of God in the XXI century, we see of great importance the updating of the social networks of our Province and the formation of its members in their use and benefit for the service of God and his people. Therefore we propose, with regard to the social networks of the Province:
– Greater presence in social networks: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube.
– Updating of the website ‘Theatines of Argentina’.
– Podcast composition on the Spotify platform
In them we will seek to develop charismatic contents, proper to the spirituality and history of our Institute; of great importance will be the publication of current events both of the community life of the religious and of the laity who feel in communion and are enriched by the Theatine charism. We will also seek access to other means of diffusion such as radio, television and written journalism in order to make the Institute and our saints known within the framework of the fifth centenary.
ARTISTIC EXPRESSIONS
The five hundred years of the Order are a propitious occasion to generate and give space to artistic originality as a way of charismatic expression. To this end, we will seek to promote in our schools and parishes, both religious and lay, painting and other plastic arts, theater, music and poetry. The growth of the artistic patrimony belonging to the Order in our country will also be encouraged through the contribution of artists and other specialists in sacred art.
SOUVENIRS
Considering the deep bond with the laity that has accompanied us for decades and even sustains our apostolic works, we want to celebrate this Jubilee year with them with concrete signs and leave it for posterity. To this end we consider it enriching to elaborate a series of objects with the emblem of the order and the logo of the fifth centenary. Such objects could be
– Domestic: mugs, key chains, mates, t-shirts, scarves;
– Churches: holy water font, vestments, cloths for Holy Mass, images, holy cards, prayers.
– Schools: banners, notebooks, backpacks, pens and pencils, diaries, etc.
