From June 17 to July 1, 2026, the Basilica of Sant’Andrea della Valle in Rome will host the exhibition Mossi dalla Bellezza, an immersive journey dedicated to Barcelona’s Sagrada Família, the most iconic work of architect Antoni Gaudí.
Open to the public free of charge, the exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to discover the artistic, spiritual, and symbolic richness of the famous basilica. Curated by architect Chiara Curti, it is organized into five thematic sections that retrace the different stages in the creation of the Sagrada Família, from its origins to the present day, highlighting the inspirations that guided Gaudí’s creative genius.
The opening ceremony will take place on June 18 at 5:30 p.m. and will feature Luca Bellizzi, Delegate of the Government of Catalonia in Italy; the Rev. Fr. Ambrosio Cots Dorca, C.R., General Postulator of the Theatine Clerics Regular; and Professor Armand Puig i Tàrrech, author of Antoni Gaudí: Life and Work.
This initiative offers a valuable opportunity to encounter one of the most significant architectural achievements of the modern era, where art, faith, and beauty converge in a profound expression of the Christian experience.
The exhibition takes on a special significance as it is being held in the Basilica of Sant’Andrea della Valle, entrusted to the Theatine Clerics Regular. At a time when evangelization is called to find new ways of speaking to contemporary society, beauty remains a privileged path to an encounter with God. The work of Antoni Gaudí stands as an eloquent testimony to how art can become an expression of faith, inviting people to raise their eyes toward the mystery of God and rediscover His presence in history.
For this reason, the Theatine Order warmly invites the faithful, pilgrims, art enthusiasts, and visitors to Rome to experience this exhibition. More than an opportunity to admire a masterpiece of world architecture, it is also a chance to enter into the spiritual vision that inspired it. Through the beauty of the Sagrada Família, visitors will discover how faith can transform human creativity into an authentic journey of contemplation, hope, and encounter with Christ.
