Diaconal Ordination of Br. Rosario Calvaruso, C.R.
Today the Church of Vicenza rejoiced in a moment of great spiritual significance as it celebrated the diaconal ordination of Emanuele Zonato, fra’ Joseph Anywar, and Br. Rosario Calvaruso, C.R., together with the presbyteral ordination of Fr. Benon Buyinza.
The Eucharist was celebrated in the Cathedral of Vicenza, presided over by Most Rev. Giuliano Brugnotto, Bishop of Vicenza, and concelebrated by numerous priests from the diocesan clergy, the Servants of Mary, and our Order of the Clerics Regular Theatines.
For the Theatine Order, this event is a profound blessing and a sign of hope. Through the diaconal ordination, Br. Rosario is configured more closely to Christ the Servant, responding generously to his vocation and placing himself at the service of the Gospel in the spirit of Saint Cajetan of Thiene.
The new deacon was accompanied by a significant presence of the Theatine General Curia:

– Rev. Fr. Marcelo R. Zubía, C.R., Vicar General
– Rev. Fr. Antonio Cabrera Olmedo, C.R., Secretary General
– Rev. Fr. João Marcos Boranelli, C.R., Rector of the Basilica of Sant’Andrea della Valle
– Rev. Fr. Adam Marek, C.R., Provincial Superior of Italy
as well as many other priests and religious of the Order.
The fraternity expressed around the new deacon reflects the unity and vitality of the Theatine charism, which continues to enrich the life of the Church throughout the world.
We lift our hearts in thanksgiving to God and pray that the ministry of Deacon Rosario may be fruitful in humility, apostolic zeal, and love for the Church.
