Image of Malta in Sant’Andrea della Valle
On August 28th, the revered statue of Saint Cajetan, depicting the Mystical Vision where the Virgin Mary hands over the Child Jesus into his arms, arrived from Malta at the Basilica of Sant’Andrea della Valle in Rome. This sacred icon will be part of the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of the founding of the Order of Clerics Regular Theatines. The statue will lead the solemn procession to St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, where the final Eucharistic Celebration will take place on September 14th.
