Father General

On June 15, 2015, at the elective session of the 163rd General Chapter of the Order of Clerics Regular (Theatine), the 93rd Father General was elected, Most Rev. Salvador Rodea González, C.R.

Father Salvador Rodea was born in Mexico City, Mexico, on 10 September 1971.

He began his theatine aspirantate on 23 August 1992, after completing engineering studies and participating in several parish missionary experiences.

At the end of the canonical year of Novitiate, which began on 6 August 1971, he made his first religious profession on 8 July 1996.

He became a deacon on February 20, 2000 and a priest on August 27 of the same year. He completed his philosophical-theological studies at the Jesuit Theological Institute in Mexico City and at the Pontifical University of Mexico.

Throughout the years of exercising his priestly ministry, he carried out various tasks in the Theatine Province of Mexico, to which he originally belongs, being Provincial Father between the years 2011-2015.

On January 13, 2022, in the opportune elective session of the 164th General Chapter of the Order of the Clerics Regular Theatines, the 93rd Superior General of the Clerics Regular Theatines was re-elected for the six-year term 2022-2028.
