In this section we will briefly refer to a brother of ours, who some years ago left his hometown of Grebokie, Poland, to join the “piccola Compagnia” of the Theatines Regular Clerics. Since her first religious profession in our Order, that September 14, 2012, she has not given up in her desire to learn more deeply about the ins and outs of the theatine charism, trying to exhume the legacy of our ancestors, in such a way as to assume a new and vital form in the actuality of our ecclesiastical and social events.
Yes, we are referring to Fr Aleksander Iwaszczonek, C.R., a Theatine religious belonging to the Theatine Province “Bambino Gesù”, from Italy. On Tuesday, June 23, 2020, he informed us that he had presented his licentiate thesis in liturgy, at the Faculty of Eastern Ecclesiastical Sciences of the Pontifical Oriental Institute, in Rome, specializing in the analysis of the Armenian liturgy. In the academic classroom, he opportunely defended the way in which this liturgy was developed, during the 16th-17th centuries, in the city of Lviv (currently in the territory of Ukraine), where the Theatines had an outstanding performance at that time, cheering the local Armenian College.
Together with Father Aleksander, we rejoice for the achievement obtained, knowing, of course, that he will continue his studies to enrich with greater science the dissemination of the heritage of our Religious Institute.
