Last Thursday, May 9, 2024, the historical city of Chascomús, located in the province of Buenos Aires, witnessed a meeting of great ecclesiastical importance. In an atmosphere of cordiality and fraternity, the General Superior of the Teatine Order, Reverend Father Salvador Rodea González, C.R., and Bishop Juan Ignacio Liébana, Bishop of the Diocese of Chascomús, met.
The reason for this significant visit was not only framed in the protocol courtesy, but also in the strengthening of the bonds between the Theatine Order and the Diocese of Chascomús. One of the highlights of this meeting was the recognition of the pastoral work and commitment of Father Martin Alejandro Schmidt, C.R. The latter, who has assumed the pastoral responsibility in the Parish of Santa Rita, located in the town of Brandsen, an integral part of the Diocese of Chascomús since the last quarter of the year 2023.
The presence of Father Schmidt in the community of Santa Rita has been a beacon of hope and spiritual renewal for the faithful, evidencing the fervor and dedication that characterize the Theatine Order in its evangelizing mission. This meeting was not only a symbol of unity between the ecclesiastical institutions, but also an occasion to strengthen collaboration and joint work for the service to the community and the spread of the Gospel message in the region.
