Fr. Ricardo Aníbal Linares, CR, has returned to the House of the Father
With deep sadness, yet sustained by Christian hope in the Resurrection, the Order of Clerics Regular Theatines announces the passing of our brother Fr. Ricardo Aníbal Linares, CR (1964–2026).
His passing invites us, above all, to give thanks to God for the gift of his life, for his Theatine vocation, and for so many years devoted to the service of the Church, communities, and the people of God. In this moment of sorrow, our faith reminds us that death does not have the final word: in the Risen Christ, we trust in the promise of eternal Life.
As a Theatine family, we unite ourselves in prayer with his family, friends, brother priests and religious in his communities, and all those who shared the journey of faith with him. We ask the Lord to welcome our brother Ricardo into His Kingdom and to grant consolation and strength to all those who mourn his passing today.
The farewell will take place on Friday, September 4, 2026, at St. Cajetan Parish in Morlupo (Rome, IT). The wake will be open from 12:30 p.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 3:00 p.m.
May Saint Cajetan, our Founder and Father, accompany him before the Lord, and may Mary Most Holy welcome him under her maternal protection.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in the peace of Christ. Amen.
