In an atmosphere of recollection, fraternity, and ecclesial reflection, the presentation of the book “Il Concilio Vaticano II, dono minacciato” recently took place in the Sacristy of the Basilica of Sant’Andrea della Valle, seat of the General Curia of the Order of Clerics Regular Theatines.
The work offers a profound and timely reflection on the legacy of the Second Vatican Council, highlighting its richness as a gift to the contemporary Church, as well as the challenges and tensions surrounding its reception today. The text invites renewed consideration of its teachings and their relevance for ecclesial and pastoral life.
The event was attended by Rev. Fr. Salvador Rodea González, C.R., Superior General of the Theatine Order; Rev. Fr. Marcelo R. Zubia, C.R., Vicar General; and Rev. Fr. João Marcos Boranelli, C.R., Rector of the Basilica, along with other authorities and participants.
The gathering was also enriched by a brief musical presentation, contributing to an atmosphere of contemplation and beauty in harmony with the spirit of the occasion.
This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of the Theatine Order to theological reflection, fidelity to the Church’s Magisterium, and the promotion of dialogue on the major events that shape ecclesial life.
