Within the context of the Canonical Visitation and the Provincial Chapter of the Theatines of the United States, the Rev. Fr. Salvador Rodea González, C.R., Superior General of the Theatine Order, was cordially received on Saturday, February 7, by Bishop Earl K. Fernandes of the Diocese of Columbus, Ohio.
The visit took place in an atmosphere of closeness, fraternity, and ecclesial communion, and reflected the shared desire to strengthen the bonds between the Theatine Order and the local Church of Columbus. Despite their many pastoral responsibilities, both made time in their schedules to bring about this meeting, which was experienced as a meaningful moment of dialogue, attentive listening, and mutual understanding.
During the meeting, reflections were shared regarding the presence and mission of the Theatines in the United States, as well as the current pastoral challenges and the importance of walking together in fidelity to the Gospel, in service to the People of God.
The Theatine Order expresses its sincere gratitude to Bishop Earl K. Fernandes for his fraternal welcome and availability, renewing its commitment to serve the Church in communion with her Pastors and in fidelity to the charism received from Saint Cajetan, for the greater glory of God and the good of souls.
