Il est n\u00e9 dans la noble famille Burali d’Arezzo \u00e0 Itri (dioc\u00e8se de Gaeta) en 1511. Dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 de l’Universit\u00e9 de Bologne, il a exerc\u00e9 le droit \u00e0 Naples avec une rectitude exemplaire. Il \u00e9tait conseiller royal d’\u00c9tat. Appel\u00e9 par Dieu \u00e0 une plus grande perfection, il entre en 1557 chez les Th\u00e9atins de Naples. Son ma\u00eetre de noviciat \u00e9tait le bienheureux Giovanni Marinoni et son compagnon saint Andrea Avellino. Il fit profession le 2 f\u00e9vrier 1558, ann\u00e9e de son ordination sacerdotale. En 1564, il fut envoy\u00e9 \u00e0 Madrid comme ambassadeur de la ville de Naples. Apr\u00e8s avoir refus\u00e9 les \u00e9v\u00each\u00e9s de Castellamare, Crotone et Brindisi, saint Pie V en 1568 l’oblige \u00e0 accepter l’\u00e9v\u00each\u00e9 de Plaisance et en 1570 le cr\u00e9e cardinal. Pasteur tr\u00e8s z\u00e9l\u00e9, ami de saint Charles Borrom\u00e9e, il s’est occup\u00e9 de tous les aspects de la vie religieuse et sociale du clerg\u00e9 et du peuple, favorisant la formation du clerg\u00e9, la cat\u00e9ch\u00e8se, la fr\u00e9quence des sacrements et l’aide \u00e0 la pauvre. En 1576, Gr\u00e9goire XIII, d\u00e9j\u00e0 son ma\u00eetre \u00e0 Bologne, le transf\u00e9ra \u00e0 l’archidioc\u00e8se de Naples, o\u00f9 il poursuivit la r\u00e9forme eccl\u00e9siastique d\u00e9j\u00e0 exp\u00e9riment\u00e9e \u00e0 Plaisance. Il mourut \u00e0 Torre del Greco, o\u00f9 il fit un court s\u00e9jour, le 17 juin 1578. Il fut b\u00e9atifi\u00e9 par Cl\u00e9ment XIV le 17 mai 1772. Son corps repose dans la Basilique de San Paolo Maggiore \u00e0 Naples. Sa f\u00eate tombe le 17 juin.<\/p>\n
